PVC degrades when it is heated during processing, releasing hydrogen chloride and discolouring. Heat stabilizers stop that chain reaction, so the compound can be extruded or moulded and the finished product keeps its colour and properties for years.

Waldies has supplied PVC stabilizers for decades. Ducatus® covers lead-based stabilizers and one-packs. Virichem® is our lead-free calcium-zinc range, made at our Dausa works in Rajasthan for compliance-led and export markets.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between lead and calcium-zinc stabilizers?

Lead stabilizers give long-term heat stability at low cost and have been the standard in pipes and cables for decades. Calcium-zinc stabilizers are lead-free, meet RoHS and similar restrictions, and are increasingly required by export markets and large buyers.

What is a one-pack stabilizer?

A one-pack combines the heat stabilizer with the lubricants and co-additives a formulation needs, in a single pre-weighed product. It simplifies dosing and improves batch consistency.

Can you help us switch from lead to calcium-zinc?

Yes. Share your formulation and line conditions; our technical team proposes a Virichem® grade and supports plant trials through to regular supply.

Are Virichem stabilizers RoHS compliant?

Virichem® calcium-zinc stabilizers are formulated without lead for RoHS-compliant applications.
